Nobody writes down what the sky did
Your crew checks a weather app that knows nothing about the schedule. The office moves a job on a hunch. Then, three months on, a customer says the sealer failed because it rained that day, and all you have is a memory.
Weather X puts the forecast where the work already lives, on the job in Jobber, and keeps the record after the visit so the question has an answer.
How it works
- 1
Connect it to Jobber
A Jobber admin clicks Connect and approves access to the schedule and job notes. That is the whole setup. There are no settings to fill in.
- 2
Every morning, the forecast lands on the job
Each job with a visit in the next 7 days carries one weather note, rewritten in place each morning. Your crew sees it wherever they already see the job, and the office sees the week across the top of the schedule.
- 3
When a visit is completed, the day goes on file
Mark the visit complete in Jobber as usual. Weather X freezes the last forecast and writes that day's actual weather beneath it, as a permanent note.
What your crew sees in Jobber
Two kinds of note, both on the job. This is the exact text.
Before the visit
[Wx] Forecast: upcoming visits Sat, Sep 19, 8:15 AM: Clear, 100°/73°F · rain 0% · wind 11 mph SW Mon, Sep 21, 8:15 AM: Overcast, 99°/88°F · rain 3% · wind 19 mph SW Wed, Sep 23, 8:15 AM: Drizzle, 98°/87°F · rain 9% · wind 15 mph E Updated Sep 17, via Open-Meteo
After the visit
[Wx] Weather: Tue, Sep 15, 10:00 AM Forecast (as of Sep 14): Partly cloudy, 88°/71°F · rain 20% · wind 9 mph SE Actual: Heavy rain, 79°/68°F · 1.12" rain · wind 17 mph (logged Sep 15) via Open-Meteo
The week’s weather, across the top of your schedule
Weather X also puts one all-day item on each of the next 7 days of your Jobber schedule, titled with that day’s forecast. It updates them every morning and removes each one when its day has passed.
The forecast is for the town an admin enters on the Weather X page. With no town set, it is for the area where most of that week’s visits are. An admin can turn the schedule items off at any time, and the notes carry on.
What it touches in your Jobber account
Reads
- Visit dates, times and completion times
- The job number and title
- The map coordinates Jobber already holds for the property
- Your Jobber team list, so you can give teammates access to the Weather X page
Writes
- One forecast note per job, updated in place
- One permanent note per completed visit
- If you leave it on, one all-day forecast item on each of the next 7 days of your schedule
- Nothing else. It edits and removes only what it created.
Never sees or changes
- Client names, phone numbers, emails or street addresses
- Invoices, quotes, payments, expenses or timesheets
- Your own notes, or any message to a client
The weather provider is sent a latitude, a longitude and a date range, and nothing else. The full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
Price
Weather X is free during early access. If we introduce paid plans, we will publish the price and give you at least 30 days’ notice before anything is charged.
Questions
Does my crew need to install anything?
No. There is no mobile app and nothing to open. Anyone who can see a job's notes in Jobber, on the web or in the Jobber mobile app, sees the forecast.
Can I see the forecast on the schedule itself?
Yes. Weather X puts one all-day item on each of the next 7 days of your Jobber schedule, titled with that day's forecast. It updates them every morning and removes each one when its day has passed. An admin sets the town on the Weather X page, or turns it off there.
Will my jobs fill up with weather notes?
No. Each job carries one rolling forecast note that is rewritten in place each morning. A visit gets its own permanent note only when it is completed.
Where does the actual weather come from?
From Open-Meteo's weather-model analysis for the property's location on that day. It is a consistent, location-specific record, but it is not a rain gauge at the site. Treat it as strong supporting evidence, not a legal measurement.
What does a visit need for a forecast to appear?
A scheduled date, and a property address that Jobber has been able to place on the map. Visits more than 7 days out are picked up as they come into range.
Can I get °C, km/h or millimetres?
Not yet. Notes are in °F, mph and inches today. A metric setting is planned. Email us if you need it and we will tell you where it stands.
How do I disconnect, and what happens to the notes?
Open Weather X from your Jobber apps and click Disconnect. Forecasts stop and the forecast items come off your schedule. The notes already on your jobs stay, because they are yours. You can also disconnect from the Jobber App Marketplace, but then up to 7 forecast items stay on your schedule until you delete them.
Is Weather X made by Jobber?
No. Weather X is built by Crew Cab Studios and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Jobber. It connects through Jobber's public developer platform, the same way other marketplace apps do.
